Ronnie Wood Radio Show guests Slash and Myles Kennedy link here
Posted on June 10th, 2010 No commentsEssential listening: “Hey that’s awesome, man”… another excellent radio show by Ronnie Wood. In this edition, Ronnie chews the fat with old pal Slash and his “solo” project touring band frontman Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge). And they play some great tracks as well (Slash, the Stones, The Faces, Clapton, AC/DC and more).
Slash hits the Maurice Jones Stage at the Download Festival, Castle Donington on Sunday at 2:55pm.
Thanks to Total Guitar Mag (Facebook Page) for the heads up on this.

Slash in talks to play Download 2010 and other festivals/venues
Posted on February 27th, 2010 No commentsSlash is expected to hit the road this summer (for the Northern Hemispherers) after his new “solo” project hits the shelves in May. The Les Paul-totin’, tophat-sportin’ rocker, whose solo project includes collaborations with other rock royalty including Ozzy, Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop and, er, Fergie Pea (apparently she can rock with the best of them, and she’s hot as well so no judegement from me) is in talks with the Download management to secure a slot at the Donington Park festival. Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge vocalist and guitarist) is the likely choice for frontman on the Slash tour. Talking to Radio 1 Newsbeat Slash said:
“I know we were talking about doing Download and there’s a couple of other ones. We’ll do some around Germany as well.”

The forthcoming album from Velvet Revolver and former GnR guitar player Slash’s solo project is just around the corner, but you can get it first (a whole month before it’s scheduled UK release date!) by pre-ordering the special edition of Classic Rock Presents Slash. The album comes with 2 additional bonus tracks and the magazine itself is dedictaed to the life of the great man. In case you’ve been hiding under a rock somewhere you might not have heard that during the current Velvet Revolver dry-patch, the VR lads have been keeping busy. Duff has been on tour with his side project Duff McKagan’s Loaded, Matt has been drumming with Motorhead and Slash has been working on a solo project involving laying down tracks with numerous singers ranging from appetising collaborations with the likes of Iggy Pop, Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters and Them Crooked Vultures), Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, Lemmy Kilminster (Motorhead) and Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge and now Slash’s frontman for the forthcoming Slash tour) to the rather head-scratching collaborations with Fergie and Cypress Hill (having said that here’s a vid of Fergie and Slash playing Sweet Child O’ Mine together. The guys filming this (or the folks standing close by) got rather excited by this collaboration
