Pete Townshend of The Who has a signature move on stage. You may have seen it done by the great man himself or by countless of other rock guitarists emulating their hero. I’m referring, of course to his crazy arm-spinning guitar move known affectionately as the Windmill (check out this video to see what I mean). Rumour has it that he even managed to skewer his hand on the whammy bar on one occasion!
I discovered that The Who Official Band Website is running a competition: if you fancy winning a beautiful, red American Standard Stratocaster signed by Towshend himself, you’ll need to get practicing your windmill groove (watch out for the whammy bar! oh, and be sure to warm up first) and get your 30 second videos uploaded to Youtube before 21st June 2009.
