News just in, Glasto-ites: Gorillaz to replace U2

Following on from the news that U2 have pulled out of Glasto, (not to mention a significant chunk of their US dates on their 360^o tour)… they will be replaced by virtual band the Gorillaz featuring Blur frontman Damon Albarn.

The Gorillaz released their latest album (Plastic Peach) in March and it features guest performances by the likes of Lou Reed, Bobby Womack and Snoop Dogg although no word yet if the Gorillaz will be “joined” on stage by any guests.

Glasto lineup revealed earlier – Slash the Ubiquitous is on there

The Glastonbury Festival 2010 Lineup was announced earlier today – Slash and his band seem to be hitting several festivals this summer – joining them at Glasto are a couple of smaller acts called U2 (I’d never heard of them either… not bad apparently) and Muse.
