AC/DC will salute US rock fans with the help of Anvil!

Rock supremos AC/DC currently on their Black Ice tour will be supported by Anvil on 2 US stadium shows next month.  Now who are Anvil?  Well they are probably the most unlucky and under-rated bands of all time.  They’ve been around for over 30 years and have never enjoyed commercial success and yet they are cited as influences on some bands you may have heard of, including Metallica and Motorhead.  These guys toured with the likes of Whitesnake and Bon Jovi and yet nothing came of it.  And last year a critically acclaimed documentary was made about them: Anvil! The Story of Anvil.  Check out the trailer on IMDB.  The DVD and Blu Ray of Anvil! The Story of Anvil is out in the UK on 15 June 2009 (3 months earlier than originally planned) and I strongly suggest you check it out.  The full story can be found on the BBC News website.

Anvil will also be appearing at the amazing Download Festival 2009 (9pm Saturday evening on the Tuborg stage) this coming weekend, after a 27 year hiatus.
