Ozzy Sues for rights to Black Sabbath name (here’s one I missed earlier)
Posted on June 8th, 2009 No commentsI don’t know how I missed this little bit of news but hey ho… I shall try be more vigilant in future. But in case you haven’t heard, Ozzy Osbourne the legendary frontman, fired from Black Sabbath back in 1979 for “alcohol abuse” later rejoined bandmates on tour from 1997, which culminated in the release of a live album, is suing godfather of modern metal (TM) Tommy Iommi. The latest round of infighting (or should that be outfighting?) comes from a, you’ve guessed it, legal battle over merchandising rights. The ball is in Iommi’s court at the moment but this is one I’ll watch with interest. See the full story here.
